Road Trip

02 Road Trip 001

And so we begin the road trip . . . . We left LA at about 9am this morning, traffic was good and we drove at about 75mph the whole way.  The roads are straight for as far as the eye can see.

02 Road Trip 028 The Dodge Caliber 2010 – zero miles… Soon 1k+

We had been told to get water and food before reaching Yosemite National Park so we stopped off in Fresno (a small hick town just off the motorway) it had a food shop just like our $2 shops – nothing over $1.  We managed to get a few essentials to get us through the next couple of days of camping.

Then it was time to find a bed . . . . well a campsite.  We called into Yosemite National Park visitors centre who told us we would be lucky to find a place and head to the Bass Lake Ranger Centre.  Off we went wondering if we would have a roof over our heads tonight.

Stress levels rose as we couldn’t find the Ranger Centre, eventually we did and a lovely Americain lady gave us a campsite, which we are typing this from tonight.

02 Road Trip 015

This afternoon we enjoyed a swim in the Bass Lake, lovely and warm.  How is the winter weather going over there for everyone?

02 Road Trip 010

We have just spotted a deer, picture below.  Quote of the day goes to Mike “I guess if there are wild deer around here… there could be wild bears too” – lets hope not!

amazing photos you two... thanks for taking the time to put them up. Looking forward to seeing photos from New York now. Hope you are enjoying it there. I'm so jealous! All well here. Your car window is fixed. Had a great catch up at Pukehina with Ormrods and Mia and Bridge. Did you see my email about the change in your accommodation for Gam's 80th? xxx Mum/Deb
