As our camp site was a reasonable distance from Yosemite valley we thought we’d beat the traffic in and get there early… The sun rose around 5:15am so we packed the tent and hit the road by 5:30am. We had a pretty quick drive in apart from a 10minute wait at some road works. But, this worked in our favour as the lollypop women (a local) took delight in recommending our day’s activities... Americans love to yarn! She was very useful though and we decided on her advice to add glacier point to the itinerary – here’s some photos from up there… Awesome view!!
We got got there so early, the pay gates were open with no one in sight and the information centres in the valley were closed. This wasn’t a problem however as James had issued us with a full itinerary. By the time we came down from our walking trail the park was packed!
We left the park a little after lunch and drove over Tioga pass which had some amazing views also.
We were blown away by the park and could easily imagine spending a week here exploring all the trails. We took way to many photos! Even after deleting all the photos we bring ourselves to delete… We still have too many… Here’s a few more:
